RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. - The Arkansas Tech Volleyball team looks to continue their dominance as they travel to Arkadelphia to take on Ouachita Baptist. The Golden Suns come into the match following their second straight perfect week and currently hold a six-game win streak.
Ouachita currently sits at 5-9 overall and 1-2 in conference play. The Tiger's last match was a five-set victory over Arkansas-Monticello.
Senior outside hitter Tymber Riley leads the Tech offense with 127 total kills with an average of 3.02 kills per set. Last week, Riley had a stellar offensive performance with 30 kills across two matches while averaging 4.29 kills per set which earned her GAC Offensive Player of the Week. Senior right-side hitter Haylee Paladini also had a great offensive performance last week. Paladini dished out 22 kills including a season-high 15 against Henderson State. Paladini also hit a good clip at .500 for the week.
Pacing the offense against Ouachita will be junior setter Brianna Merkel. The junior setter currently has 259 assists on the season and averaging 6.48 assists per set. Merkel set her new season-high in assists last week in the match against Henderson state with 41.
Senior libero Madison Grantham leads the Golden Suns in digs with 163 total while averaging 3.98 digs per set. Grantham set her new season-high against Henderson State last week coming up with 30 digs. Senior middle blocker Emily Ragsdale continues to be the leader in the teams blocking effort with 38. Junior outside hitter Kaitlyn Bradley follows behind Ragsdale with 27 blocks on the season.
The match against Ouachita will be tomorrow Tuesday, September 28. The match is set to begin at 6 p.m. in Arkadelphia.
