WICHITA FALLS, Texas - The Arkansas Tech Volleyball Team wrapped up their weekend in Texas with losses against nationally ranked #22 Colorado Mesa (25-23, 21-25, 22-25, 16-25) and Midwestern State (25-18, 25-19, 13-25, 21-25, 13-15).
Leading the match against #22 Colorado Mesa was Abby Simpson setting a new career high in kills with 11. Tymber Riley followed right behind Simpson with 10 kills. Brianna Merkel had 28 assists on the day. Leading the way for the defense was Madison Grantham putting up a season high 18 digs, with Trysta Foster contributing 12 digs. The Golden Suns came out on top in the match in blocks with 11 against Colorado Mesa's seven.
Tymber Riley lead the way for Tech in the second match against Midwestern State with 14 kills. Emily Ragsdale had a strong showing with a 10 kill and season high 11 block double-double. With a season high 17 digs, Trysta Foster lead the Golden Sun defense, with Madison Grantham contributing 11 digs. Tech also lead the game in blocks once again with 16 against the 11 blocks by Midwestern State.
The Golden Suns next match will be their home opener against Great American Conference opponent Arkansas-Monticello on Tuesday, September 14 in Tucker Coliseum. The match is set for a 6 p.m. start time.
