FIRST PITCH
After winning the Great American Conference tournament championship, the Arkansas Tech Golden Suns will appear in their third consecutive NCAA Central Region tournament. The tournament win marks the third consecutive GAC tournament championship for the Golden Suns, winning in 2018, 2019 and 2021.

Arkansas Tech outscored their opponents in the tournament 22-2 with a 13-0 victory against No. 6-seeded Southern Nazarene, a 4-1 victory over No. 1-seeded Southern Arkansas and a 5-1 victory over No. 3-seeded Southeastern Oklahoma in the championship.

The Golden Suns are set to take on the University of Central Oklahoma at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday May 19 in Edmond, Okla.

TECH TIDBITS
Tymber Riley led the Golden Suns in their tournament run with two home runs, hitting .571, scoring six runs. Caitlyn Wells earned a spot on the all-tournament team after hitting ,714 with eight RBIs along with Makenzie Goins with her two home runs and six RBIs. Shannon Lasey went 2-0 on the weekend with 11 strikeouts in 10.0 innings of work to solidify her name on the all-tournament list along with Maddy Prough after she picked up a win in the championship and a save with a .78 ERA in 9.0 innings of work.

In the championship, the Golden Suns scored in the first inning, like their two games before, when Paty Loredo tripled to left field and scored the following play off a double to right center from Wells. Scoring continued for the Golden Suns in the bottom of the second inning after Makenzie Addis and Goins knocked back-to-back singles and both advanced on a perfectly executed sacrifice bunt from Holly Crutchfield. Addis then scored on a sacrifice fly from Arissa Harrish. Both teams went scoreless in the third and fourth before Riley launched her second bomb of the tournament to left center, scoring Crutchfield along the way. A triple from Harrish scored Crutchfield in the sixth to conclude the Golden Suns scoring before the Savage Storm posted one run in the top of the seventh. A popup from Southeastern Oklahoma ended the game and secured the Golden Suns championship.

SCOUTING THE BRONCHOS
The No. 14-ranked and No. 3-seeded Bronchos enter the regional tournament with a 35-12 overall record and finished the regular season at the top of the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association. The Bronchos fell in the MIAA tournament semifinals in their last outing.
