FIRST PITCH
For the sixth time this season, the Arkansas Tech Golden Suns will face a nationally ranked opponent on the road. The Golden Suns travel to take on #22 Rogers State in Claremore, Okla., in a doubleheader starting at 3 p.m. on Tuesday.
Last week, the Golden Suns continued their sweeping ways, taking down Harding in a doubleheader on Tuesday and Henderson State in a four-game series in Arkadelphia. Highlights from the week included a no-hitter from
Shannon Lasey and a run-rule victory in the final game of the series as the Golden Suns extended their win streak to 10 games.
The Golden Suns enter the midweek nonconference match-up with an 18-13 overall record and 14-7 record in Great American Conference Play.
TECH TIDBITS
The Golden Suns swept the second doubleheader on Sunday against the Reddies in come-from-behind fashion in game one and a run-rule in five innings in game two. In game one, the Golden Suns went down 4-0 after the first inning. Arkansas Tech stormed back in the top of the seventh, putting up six runs in the top of the inning. Henderson State answered to tie things in the bottom of the seventh to take the game into extra innings.

Brooke Prewitt and
Tymber Riley doubled to score
Arissa Harrish and
Abigail Lochala, securing the 9-6 nine inning victory.
Game two was all about the Golden Suns as they scored in four of the five innings of play. Fulgham hit her second bomb of the weekend, with
Caitlyn Wells launching a three-run homer to put the Golden Suns up 10-0 after five.
Shannon Lasey walked her first batter but settled in and did not allow a single hit in the five innings, securing her first no-hitter as a Golden Sun.
Wells recorded eight hits on the weekend, pushing her season average to .400 (36-for-90) to continue leading the Golden Suns. Prewitt earned GAC Player of the Week after hitting .474 (9-for-19) with two doubles, a home run and seven RBIs I the Golden Suns 6-0 week.
SCOUTING THE HILLCATS
The Hillcats enter the doubleheader with a 21-11 overall record and a 10-6 record in MIAA play. In their last outing the Hillcats split a doubleheader against Missouri Southern dropping game one 5-3 and took game two 7-1.
Rogers State has seven batters hitting .300 or better, led by Danelle Day with .375 (33-for-88) average. Makayla Bowman leads the team with 34 hits and Elexis Watson has a team-high eight homeruns. Andrea Morales has the lowest ERA on the Hillcat's staff at 1.57 and has struckout 131 in 107 innings of work.
