FIRST SERVE 

The Arkansas Tech Golden Suns are back in action to face off against Arkansas-Monticello for the second time this season. The Golden Suns enter the matchup with a 4-1 record after their win against Ouachita Baptist.   

In their last outing, the Golden Suns took down Ouachita Baptist in four sets in Tucker Coliseum (25-19, 21-25, 26-24, 25-16). Rilie Vote led the match 15 kills, hitting a .306 for the match. Emily Acker came off the bench to run the offense and led the Golden Suns with 21 assists with Brianna Merkel with 20 assists. Madison Grantham grabbed 21 digs in the win. 

TECH TIDBITS 

In their first meeting, the Golden Suns took down the Cotton Blossoms in three sets inside Tucker Coliseum (25-17, 25-20, 25-16). Addison Masters led the match with 12 kills while hitting a .455 in the match. Brianna Merkel notched her second double-double of the season with 37 assists and 10 digs. Madison Grantham led with 22 digs and added three assists. 

Addison Masters leads the team with 47 kills this season, followed by Rilie Vote with 46 and Mackenzie Eford with 43.  Brianna Merkel has posted double-doubles with assists and digs in four of the five matches this season, averaging 8.79 assists per set and 2.95 digs per set. Madison Grantham has led the team in digs every match, averaging 5.95 digs per set on the season, good for second in the GAC. 

SCOUTING THE COTTON BLOSSOMS 

Arkansas-Monticello sits at 2-4 for the season, entering the matchup against Arkansas Tech. In their last outing, the Cotton Blossoms fell to Harding in straight sets. Arkansas-Monticello took down Southern Arkansas in five sets for their second win of the season.  

The Cotton Blossoms are led by Madison Kleewein with 2.86 kills per set and Faith Wilemon with 2.45 kills per set. Katie Peason directs the offense, averaging 8.45 assists per set and picks up 2.73 dig per set on the defensive end. Katelyn Richbourg anchors the defense with 5.09 digs per set.
