Box Score SHAWNEE, Okla. – Arkansas Tech softball team dropped the opening game of the three-game series against Oklahoma Baptist on Friday night. The Golden Suns look to bounce back on Saturday in a doubleheader starting at noon.
The Golden Suns struck first, putting up two runs in the top of the second inning.
Brooke Prewitt drew a walk and
Emily Magana reached on catcher's interference before a single from
Tymber Riley scored Prewitt and Magana's run was forced in after
Paty Loredo drew a walk. The Bison answered back with three runs in the bottom of the inning, leading 3-1.
Makenzie Addis did her thing, launching her seventh homerun of the season to open the third inning. Prewitt followed with a single up the middle but the Golden Suns were unable to convert. Oklahoma Baptist put together a big third inning, bringing in six more runs to take a 9-3 lead.
Several errors proved costly in the bottom of the fourth as the Bison capitalized and scored five runs, taking a 14-3. The Golden Suns were unable to score in the fifth and the Bison took game one, 14-3.
Tymber Riley led the Golden Suns, going 2-for-3 while Loredo, Addis and
Arissa Harrish posted an RBI each.
