FIRST PTICH
After a full three-game weekend series, the Arkansas Tech Golden Suns travel to Oklahoma to take on #23 Central Oklahoma and #8 Oklahoma Christian in doubleheaders on Tuesday and Wednesday. Arkansas Tech will face UCO on Tuesday, starting at 1 p.m. and OC on Wednesday, staring at noon.
The Golden Suns will face off against the non-conference opponents before taking on Oklahoma Baptist in a three-game Great American Conference series on Friday and Saturday. Arkansas Tech enters the week with a 8-7 overall record and a 6-5 record in GAC play.
TECH TIDBITS
In their last outing, the Golden Suns split the doubleheader against the Southern Nazarene Crimson Storm, taking game one 3-1.
Shannon Lasey pitched her third complete game of the season, allowing just one run off for hits, striking out seven in the win.
Caitlyn Wells singled and
Makenzie Addis drew a walk before
Brooke Prewitt drove in the two runs in the fourth. Wells doubled in the bottom of the sixth before
McKenzie Harrish pinch and scored after a fielding error.
Paty Loredo paces the offense, hitting .444 (12-for-27), followed by
Caitlyn Wells at .432 (16-for-37).
Makenzie Addis has four home runs on the season, good for second in the GAC. Wells leads the team in hits and doubles, while Prewitt and
Tymber Riley round out the Golden Suns with double-digit hits with 12 and 10 respectively.
SCOUTING THE BRONCHOS
Central Oklahoma enters the doubleheader with a 14-6 overall record with their last win coming over Sioux Falls, 2-0 in the Hy-Vee Classic. The Bronchos are sitting at 5-1 in conference play.
Allie Eicher leads UCO, hitting .388 (19-for-49) and ties the team-high with three homeruns on the season. Tarin Dubler and Hazel Puempel lead the Bronchos with 21 hits, batting .368 and .328 respectively.
SCOUTING THE EAGLES
Oklahoma Christian enters the doubleheader with a 17-5 overall record, with wins over four top-25 teams this season. The Eagles are coming off a split doubleheader against St. Mary's (TEXAS), where they won game one 6-0.
Kylie Janzen leads the Eagles, hitting .423 (22-for-52) and four home runs. Katelyn Dunckel has knocked a team-high 26 hits, followed by her sister Bri Dunckel with 24 hits. Both Dunckels, Whitney Walde and Brianna Robinson are all hitting above .300 on the season.
