The Arkansas Tech Golden Suns take the field for the second time this week, this time at Arkansas-Monticello due to weather concerns. The Golden Suns will now host the Cotton Blossoms on their home field on Friday at 3 p.m. and a doubleheader on Saturday starting at noon.
The Golden Suns enter the weekend series with a 5-4 overall record and a 3-2 in Great American Conference play. Arkansas Tech picked up a sweep over East Central before falling in a doubleheader to Harding.
In game one,
Maddy Prough struck out 10 Lady Bisons and pitched five scoreless innings.
Holly Crutchfield grabbed two RBIs in game two, scoring
Tymber Riley and
Brooke Prewitt.
TECH TIDBITS
Caitlyn Wells continues to shine in her freshman campaign, leading the Golden Suns with a .471 average (8-for-17). She also leads with eight hits, four of those being doubles.
Holly Crutchfield leads the Golden Suns with eight RBIs. Wells and Riley each have five RBIs apiece.
McKenzie Harrish and
Paty Loredo join Wells in the .400 average, hitting .429 (3-for7) Â and .417 (5-for-12) respectively.
Reisa Bakenhus rounds out the Golden Suns, hitting .313 (5-for-16).
The Golden Suns pitching staff has a combined ERA of 2.88 from

Shannon Lasey,
Lexy Taylor and
Maddy Prough. Lasey leads with two complete game wins followed by Bales with a 2-1 record. Prough leads with 25 Ks, followed by Lasey with 13 and Bales with 11.

SCOUTING THE COTTON BLOSSOMS
Arkansas-Monticello enters the weekend series with a 4-5 overall record and a 4-3 record in GAC play. The Cotton Blossoms most recent win comes from a walk-off against #1 Southern Arkansas in a #RivalryTuesday showdown. Arkansas-Monticello dropped the first game of the doubleheader, 4-1.
Bailey Camp leads the Cotton Blossoms, hitting .414 (12-for-29) on the season. Three other Cotton Blossoms hit over .300 this season: Sierra Gasca at .381 (8-for-21), Katelynn Stamper (11-for-32) and Mahayla Mitchell (6-for-20). Jamie Franks leads the team with 27 innings pitched and 12 Ks. Maddie Chalenburg leads with a 1.84 ERA and has her opponents hitting .239 against her.
