Golden Suns tennis opens at home vs. John Brown

RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – Just two days removed from their 9-0 dominant shutout victory over Hendrix, the Arkansas Tech women's tennis team is back in action on Thursday. This time, however, it will be for the first match for the Golden Suns at home as they are set to welcome in John Brown University for a 1 p.m. match out at the Chartwells Women's Sports Complex.

Going into the non-conference match, the Golden Suns have won two-straight and are even on their record at 2-2. John Brown, a NAIA school competing in the Sooner Athletic Conference, is 0-1 thus far after opening their season on the road this past Tuesday at Evangel University. JBU narrowly lost that season-opening match 4-3.

Throughout the early part of the season, the Golden Suns' lineup has remained pretty consistent. Michelle Khoo has played at the top-flight in singles play all four matches and is 2-1 with one match that went unfinished.

After Khoo there has been slight alternation of Aastha Dargude and Lea Grinberg at No. 2 and No. 3 singles. Grinberg has played the most matches at No. 2 singles and is 2-1. On the flipside, Dargude is 2-1 at No. 3 singles.

No. 4 singles has been solid all year with Daniela Baez playing all four matches at that flight. She is currently 3-1 on the season.

After opening the year and winning at No. 6 singles against nationally-ranked Southwest Baptist, Megan Bell has since moved up to No. 5 singles and has yet to lose. Overall, Bell is an unblemished 4-0 in singles play.

Rounding out the lineup has been Isabella Major. At 2-2 overall in singles play, Major is 2-1 at No. 6 singles.

Even more consistent than what the singles lineup has been, the Golden Suns doubles pairings have not changed all season. Khoo and Dargude have played at No. 1 doubles and are 2-2. Baez
