RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. - The Arkansas Tech Volleyball team will play their final road contest of the regular season in Monticello, Ark. against Arkansas-Monticello. The Golden Suns are currently 17-7 overall with an 11-3 record in conference play. Tech will look to bounce back on the road after a tough 5 set loss in their match in Searcy against Harding.

This is the second match of the season between Tech and Arkansas-Monticello with the last match resulting in a 3-2 win for Tech in Tucker. The Cotton Blossoms are 9-18 overall this season with a 3-11 record among conference opponents. In their last match, Arkansas-Monticello traveled to Arkadelphia where they were defeated by Henderson State 3-0.

Seniors Haylee Paladini and Tymber Riley, along with junior Kaitlynn Bradley will once again be at the forefront of the offensive attack for the Golden Suns. Senior middle blocker Emily Ragsdale and freshman Abby Simpson should also help contribute to the offensive end. The Golden Suns offense will be paced by junior setter Brianna Merkel who has 614 assists on the season while averaging 7.06 assists per set.

On the defensive end, the dig effort will be led by senior libero Madison Grantham who has 358 total digs on the season while averaging 4.07 digs per set. Riley should also have a big impact on the defensive end to come up with crucial digs. Holding down the front of the net will be Ragsdale who leads the team in total blocks with 69 on the season. Bradley and Paladini will also have a strong defensive presence in front. The Golden Suns are currently third in blocks among all GAC teams.

The Golden Suns will face Arkansas-Monticello tomorrow, Tuesday, November 9 in Monticello. The match is scheduled for a 6 p.m. start.
