SEARCY, Ark. - The Arkansas Tech Volleyball team drops another tough 5 set match on the road in Searcy. The Golden Suns move to 17-7 overall with an 11-3 conference record.
Leading the offense for Tech was senior outside hitter Tymber Riley notching her second straight double-double (8th of the season) with 19 kills and 16 digs. Senior right-side hitter Haylee Paladini also had a solid offensive outing with 11 kills, while junior outside hitter Kaitlynn Bradley added 8.Â
Pacing the Golden Sun offense was junior setter Brianna Merkel putting up a team-leading 34 assists in the match. Merkel also had a great defensive effort for Tech setting her new season-high in digs with 17 and a block assist.
On the defensive end, Senior libero Madison Grantham led the Golden Suns in digs with 26. Junior libero Megan Solberg also set her new season-high in digs at 17 to go alongside Merkel's 17. Freshman libero Jamie Myrick came up with 14 digs. Leading the match in blocks was senior middle blocker Emily Ragsdale with four total. Paladini and Bradley both had 2 blocks each.
Tech will travel to Monticello, Ark. for their next match against Arkansas-Monticello. This will be the final road game of the season for the Golden Suns. The match is set for a 6 p.m. start.
