TIPPING OFF
The Arkansas Tech men's basketball team is back at home and continues its second round of GAC Eastern Divisional play as the Wonder Boys are set to take on Arkansas-Monticello on Saturday afternoon inside Tucker Coliseum. The Wonder Boys will be looking to avenge a loss to the Boll Weevils from their first encounter in Monticello back on January 7.

In their most-recent game this past Thursday, the Wonder Boys staged a late second-half rally that ultimately fell just short on the road at Henderson State.

Trailing by 13 points with 4:05 left to play, the Wonder Boys went on a 10-2 run over the next two and a half minutes and made it a five-point game with 1:43 left in the second half. After a pair of free throws by the Reddies made it a seven-point game on their ensuing trip down the floor, the Wonder Boys ripped off a 4-0 scoring burst to close to within three points with only 48 seconds remaining.

Another forced turnover of the Reddies and subsequent foul gave the Wonder Boys a chance to bring the game to within a single point with 12 seconds left, but a split trip to the charity stripe kept Henderson in the lead by two points. The Reddies then were able to seal the game and birng it to its final margin of four points with a pair of made free throws.

Prior to their comeback efforts from the 4:05 mark on, the Wonder Boys were able to stay in the game as the Reddies, who ironically ended up shooting 50% overall from the floor, went ice cold over the final 7:32 of the game in terms of making baskets. From that point on, the Reddies, who had a 12-point lead at that moment, were 0-for-4 from the field and turned the ball over five times.
