WONDER BOYS DROP SEASON FINALE

WEATHERFORD, Okla. - Southwestern Oklahoma State University used a late run to slip past Arkansas Tech University 99-98 in the men's basketball season finale for both teams Saturday afternoon at the Pioneer Cellular Event Center in Weatherford, Okla.

The Bulldogs (13-15 overall, 9-13 Great American Conference) used an 11-2 spurt over a span of 2:25 to claim a 93-87 lead with 2:42 left. Bralyn James sparked the decisive run with six consecutive points.

SWOSU held on down the stretch by making 4-of-6 free throws over the final 30.3 seconds. Kamden Gipson's free throw with 7.3 seconds remaining gave the Bulldogs an insurmountable 99-95 lead.

ATU's R.J. Glasper made a 3-pointer with 0.2 seconds remaining to set the final margin. Southwestern Oklahoma State got the ball in bounds to Marquis Johnson, the remaining time elapsed and the 97th season of Arkansas Tech men's basketball came to an end.

Johnson scored 22 points for the Bulldogs, who held a 24-10 advantage in points off turnovers. SWOSU's Damion Thornton notched 18 points and 10 rebounds.

Glasper finished with 26 points and eight assists. His 169 assists in 2019-20 were fifth-most in a single season in Wonder Boys' history. With one season of eligibility remaining, Glasper ranks sixth in ATU history in career assists with 416.

Ramses Sandifer had a career-high 23 points in his final game as a Wonder Boy. He was 9-of-16 from the field, including 3-of-6 from 3-point range.

Albert Odero added 16 points for Arkansas Tech, which lost 10 of its last 11 games and was 0-12 on the road in 2019-20. The Wonder Boys finished 12-16 overall and 8-14 in the GAC.
