Kaley Shipman turned in a 24-point, six-rebound, five-assist performance while
Ke'Vonshaye Stackhouse chipped in 22 points eight rebounds and seven assists, leading the way for the Arkansas Tech Golden Suns basketball team (10-5, 7-4 Great American Conference) to a 101-90 win over Southwestern Oklahoma (12-5, 7-4) on Thursday night at Tucker Coliseum.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The two teams traded baskets and leads over the opening five minutes of the game, but after SWOSU's Taber Beer knotted the contest at 13-13 with 5:36 to play in the opening quarter, Sarah Heard put the Golden Suns ahead with a layup and Tech would extend its lead to as many as six (24-18) with 1:01 to play, ending the quarter with a five-point advantage (25-20).
- SWOSU charged back in the second quarter, reclaiming the lead at the 7:29 mark on a Bethany Franks layup.
- The Bulldogs led or held a tie until the 3:41 mark of the quarter, when a pair of free throws by Sarah Heard gave Tech a 38-37 advantage.
- Tech stretched its lead to four (43-39) on a Stackhouse 3-pointer with 2:58 to play in the half, but SWOSU again reclaimed the lead at 44-43 just one minute later after scoring five consecutive points.
- The Golden Suns closed the half with five consecutive points to carry a four-point (48-44) lead into the break.
- Tech stretched its lead into double figures (54-44) with 8:32 to play in the third quarter on a Stackhouse jumper.
- Jayana Sanders' free throw with four minutes to play in the quarter stretched the Golden Suns' lead to 17 (67-50).
- SWOSU rallied over the final minutes of the quarter, cutting its deficit down to eight twice in the final minute before a Ryann Goodsell layup with two seconds to play gave Tech a 10-point (76-66) lead going into the fourth quarter.
- SWOSU cut the Tech lead to four (92-88) with 2:44 to play on a 3-pointer by Bethany Franks, but Tech outscored SWOSU 9-2 down the stretch to seal the victory.

- Tech placed five players in double figures, as Goodsell (18 points), Heard (14 points), and Sanders (12 points) also reached the plateau.
- Lycia Peevy narrowly missed a double-double with nine points and a team-high 10 boards.
- Tech shot 60.7 percent from the floor to 39.3 percent for Southwestern Oklahoma. The Golden Suns connected on 70.6 percent of their shots in the third quarter.
- Tech outrebounded SWOSU 43-34 in the contest.
- The Golden Suns held a 44-42 advantage on points in the paint and a 20-7 advantage in fast-break points. SWOSU held a 16-4 advantage in second-chance points and a 24-6 advantage in points off turnovers.

- The win was Tech's first win over SWOSU since March 4, 2017 and the first inside Tucker Coliseum since January 28, 2016.
