GOLDEN SUNS HOST TWO CONFERENCE CONTEST THIS WEEK

RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Arkansas Tech Golden Suns will host Harding and Henderson State, Jan. 16 and Jan. 18 in Tucker Coliseum. Tipoff is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 16 and 1 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 18.

  • Live audio, video, and statistics for the game will be available at www.arkansastechsports.com. The game will be carried live locally on 102.3-FM (KCJC) in Russellville. 
FIVE THINGS TO KNOW
  • The Golden Suns are coming off a 27-point victory over Oklahoma Baptist and enter the weekend with an 8-4 overall record and are 5-3 in Great American Conference play.
  • Arkansas Tech leads the all-time series over Harding, 57-15, splitting the two meetings last season. Tech won the first meeting last season in an overtime thriller, 68-67.
  • The Golden Suns hold the all-time advantage over Henderson State, 74-16. The Reddies won the first meeting this season and both last season. Henderson's win in Russellville on Dec. 1, 2018 was the first time the Reddies have won inside Tucker Coliseum since 2007.
  • Kaley Shipman established a strong presence for the Golden Suns, leading them in scoring in the last two contests. She poured in a career-high 26 points and grabbing seven rebounds against Oklahoma Baptist.  
  • Jayana Sanders continues to lead the young Golden Suns, dishing out a career-high 11 assists against Oklahoma Baptist. She leads the team with 52 total assists and averages 4.3 assists per contest.
