ROLLA, Mo. – Allie Anderson led the Golden Suns with nine kills and
Haylee Paladini added another strong performance, with 5 kills hitting .357 but it wasn't enough to overcome the Miners of Missouri S&T. The Miners outhit Tech .252 to .155. The Golden Suns defense once again outblocked their opponent, totaling 6 blocks in the loss.
NEXT UP- The Golden Suns play their last match of the Miner Invitational against Auburn University at Montgomery Saturday Sept. 7 at 9 a.m. in Gibson Arena in Rolla, Mo.
HOW IT HAPPENED-
- The Miners took an early 13-7 lead and Tech couldn't claw back, dropping the first set 25-18.
- Tech took an early 5-1 lead and stayed within three points until the Miners took their largest lead 16-11, eventually taking the second set 25-20.
- After being down 5-1, Tech took its first lead of the third set on a block by Makenzie Eford and Anyse Smith 11-10.
- The two teams traded points until the Miners took a lead at 20-17 and eventually the set 25-19 despite Tech outblocking the Miners 4-1 in the third set.
