GOLDEN SUNS TRAVEL TO ARKADELPHIA

RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Golden Suns (9-5, 2-0 Great American Conference) travel to Arkadelphia Thursday, Sept. 26, to face the Henderson State Reddies (7-7, 1-1) in the Duke Wells Center at 6:30 p.m. Live stats and live video will be available for the match at arkansastechsports.com.
 
Arkansas Tech swept Southern Arkansas in its home opener Tuesday, posting a season-best .330 hitting percentage. The Golden Suns have won their last nine matches in a row, with five of those in straight sets. 
 
The Golden Suns sit atop of the conference and rank sixth in the nation in blocks per set, with Greer Rogers ranking third in the nation and leading the conference with 1.50 blocks/set. Rogers also leads in total blocks with 60 this season. Haylee Paladini ranks third in the GAC, averaging 1.03 blocks per set. Brianna Merkel sits at fourth in the conference with 8.35 assists per set. Allie Anderson leads the team, averaging 3.30 points per set.
 
Henderson State fell to Harding in straight sets on Tuesday, dropping its conference record to 1-1. The Reddies lead the conference in total digs and total attacks. Offensively, Courtney Bolf leads the team with 3.39 points per set and is ranked second in the conference in total aces. Abby Blackburn and Taylor Scalzi lead the offense in assists per set, averaging 5.34 and 4.34 respectively. Defensively, Kenzie Thoman holds down the back row with 4.65 digs per set and Adrianna Hartman leads with .81 blocks/set.
 
The Golden Suns lead the all-time series with the Reddies 35-28. Henderson State won both meetings last season in straight sets.
