RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. - The Arkansas Tech Golden Suns softball team will return to action at the Chartwells Women's Sports Complex on Friday and Saturday, hosting Southern Nazarene in a four-game Great American Conference series. Friday's doubleheader is slated for a 3 p.m. start, while Saturday's doubleheader begins at noon.

SCOUTING THE GOLDEN SUNS
Arkansas Tech (12-10, 6-4 Great American Conference) is coming off a doubleheader sweep of East Central, winning game one 9-4 and the finale 4-3 as a walk-off RBI double by
Makenzie Goins sealed the win for the Suns. Tech sits in fifth place in the GAC standings.
Gaby Vasquez leads Tech and is tied for fourth in the GAC with a .429 batting average, while her .548 on-base percentage is ranked third in the conference.
Megan Goodnight follows with a .427 batting average, which is sixth-best in the league. Goodnight leads the Golden Suns with 32 hits, seven doubles, four home runs, and 19 RBIs. Goodnight has also led the way for Tech in the circle, going 5-0 with a 2.61 ERA in 51.0 innings. Goodnight has tallied 208 career hits as a Golden Sun and is six hits shy of passing Sarah Pratt (2007-09) for third all-time in school history. Tiphani Moon (2008-11) holds the record for career hits with 222.
SCOUTING THE CRIMSON STORM
Southern Nazarene (13-10, 8-4 GAC) sits in third place in the conference standings. This past weekend SNU took three of four from Henderson State. The Crimson Storm split the first two games winning 9-1 and falling 9-3, before taking the last two games of the series 6-1 and 14-2.
Southern Nazarene leads the GAC in batting average (.326), slugging percentage (.489), on base percentage (.410), runs (156), hits (203), RBIs (142) and doubles (45). SNU is also the only school in the league to have four players ranked inside the top-ten in runs scored, led by Jacey James with 21 runs scored.
Mahina Sauer leads the Crimson Storm offense. Sauer leads the GAC in batting average (.500) and doubles (10), while rankings second in on-base percentage and third in slugging percentage (.703). Riley Kalman leads the GAC in RBIs (33), ranks second in slugging percentage (.746), second in home runs (6) and tenth in batting average (.408).
Brooklyn Sparkman leads SNU in the circle and has posted a GAC best 9-0 record. Sparkman has a 4.16 ERA in 80.0 innings of work. She is holding opposing batters to a .363 batting average.
