GOLDEN SUNS SET TO PLAY OUACHITA AND SOUTHERN ARKANSAS

RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Arkansas Tech Golden Suns will look to move up in the Great American Conference standings this week as they host Ouachita at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday before traveling to Magnolia, Ark. to play Southern Arkansas on Saturday at 1 p.m.

ALL-TIME SERIES
Tech leads the all-time series 60-14 against Ouachita, and have won 11 straight and 24 of the last 26 meetings. Earlier this season the Tech defeated the Lady Tigers 71-61 in Arkadelphia, Ark. The Suns are 32-3 against OUA at home and have won the last four home matchups.
 
The Suns hold a 69-9 advantage in the all-time series against Southern Arkansas and have won the last eight meetings. The Suns took the contest earlier this season win a 74-52 win in Tucker Coliseum. The Golden Suns are 31-6 when playing at W.T. Watson Center.

SCOUTING THE GOLDEN SUNS
Arkansas Tech (8-12, 5-9 GAC) has won two of its last three games and is coming off a split its GAC games last week. The Suns defeated East Central 64-56 at Tucker Coliseum on Jan. 31 before dropping a close 71-69 contest to Southeastern Oklahoma on Feb. 2. The Golden Suns are currently in a three-way tie for seventh in the GAC standings.
 
The Golden Suns rank second in the conference in rebounding offense at 42.0 rebounds per game. Tech also ranks second in offensive rebounds per game (13.1), third in defensive rebounds per game (29.0) and third in rebounding margin (+2.8). Lyrik Williams leads the team and ranks 15th in the league in rebounding (6.2). Williams also grabs 2.5 offensive rebounds per game, which is the sixth-best in the GAC.

On offense, Hannah Villines and Ke'Vonshaye Stackhouse have been the hot hands. Villines is coming off a career-high 26 points against SOSU, while Stackhouse is coming off a 21-point performance against ECU. Over the past three games, Villines is averaging 18.3 points per game and Stackhouse is averaging 15.6 points per game.
 
SCOUTING THE LADY TIGERS
Ouachita (6-14, 4-10 GAC) enters Thursday's game having lost five of its last six games, however OUA did split its GAC matchups last week. The Lady Tigers defeated Oklahoma Baptist 70-59 on Jan. 31 and fell 76-64 to Southern Nazarene on Feb. 2. The Lady Tigers are currently ranked tenth the conference standings.  
 
Ouachita ranks fourth in the GAC in 3-point field goal percentage (32.7%) and fifth in assists per game (12.6).
 
Alivia Huell leads the Lady Tigers as Huell ranks 18th in the conference in scoring (12.6), fifth in rebounding (7.6) and sixth in blocks (0.8). Madison Brittain and Eden Crow are also key contributors as Brittain scores 12.3 points per game and Crow adds 12.3 points per game.
 
SCOUTING THE LADY MULERIDERS
Southern Arkansas (2-18, 1-13 GAC) is on a five game losing streak, its last win came back on Jan. 17 against Arkansas-Monticello (62-56). Last weekend the Lady Muleriders dropped contests to No. 15 Southwestern Oklahoma (86-61) and Northwestern Oklahoma (52-48). SAU is currently ranked 12th in the GAC standings.
 
Southern Arkansas is tied with Harding for the top spot in the GAC in rebounding defense at 33.1 rebounds per game. SAU also ranks seventh in the conference in free throw percentage (69.6%). Ariana Guinn is the only Southern Arkansas player scoring in double-figures at 10.3 points per game.
