RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. - The Arkansas Tech Golden Suns basketball team opens the Great American Conference portion of its schedule Thursday night, hosting Ouachita Baptist in a 5:30 p.m. contest at Tucker Coliseum. Thursday's game kick-starts a two-game GAC swing, as Tech also travels to Henderson State on Saturday, Nov. 23 at 1 p.m.

FIVE THINGS TO KNOW
- Arkansas Tech enters the weekend's games with a 2-1 record overall. Tech is coming off a 92-90 loss to Angelo State, then ranked No. 24 nationally. The Golden Suns opened the season with lopsided wins over Crowley's Ridge (114-36) and Lane (65-45).
- The Golden Suns swept Ouachita last season, and the Tigers are off to na 0-3 start this year. After being edged by Newman in the season opener, 53-55, Ouachita fell to Southwest Minnesota State 76-50 and Texas A&M-Commerce 69-54.
- Henderson State swept the season series over the Golden Suns last season, and enters the weekend with a 2-1 record overall. Henderson opened the season with a 79-70 win over Missouri Southern before falling 62-59 to Emporia State. The Reddies are coming off a 103-47 win over Bacone the last time out, and will face Southern Arkansas Thursday night in Arkadelphia.
- Jalei Oglesby has been a smashing success for the Golden Suns through her first three games. The freshman is averaging 22.7 points and 7.3 rebounds per game, and is shooting 59.6 percent from the floor.
- Four Golden Suns have averaged double figure points in the early going, as in addition to Oglesby, Ke'Vonshaye Stackhouse has poured in 17.5 points to go with her 4.5 boards per game, Hannah Villines averages 11.7 points and 5.7 boards, and Jayana Sanders averages 10.0 points, 3.0 assists, and 2.3 boards per contest.
