GOLDEN SUNS HEAD TO MONTICELLO THURSDAY

RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. - Arkansas Tech volleyball travels to Monticello, Ark. Thursday, Oct. 3, for a Great American Conference match against the University of Arkansas at Monticello at 6 p.m. The Golden Suns are looking to move to 5-0 in conference play and extend their 10-game winning streak.
 
Arkansas Tech (11-5, 4-0 GAC) is coming off a four-set win against Ouachita Baptist, who was previously undefeated in conference play. The Golden Suns sit atop the Great American Conference tied with Oklahoma Baptist.
 
GAC Setter of the Week, Brianna Merkel is coming off a great match, posting a career-high 30 digs against the Tigers, while dishing out 42 assists in four sets. She is third in the conference for total assists. Greer Rogers notched a career-high 13 total blocks Tuesday and is among the national leaders, averaging 1.56 blocks per set. Allie Anderson leads the offense with 2.98 kills per set.
 
UAM (4-11, 1-3) is coming off three-set loss to Harding on Tuesday. The Cotton Blossoms are led offensively by Leslie Polanco with 3.31 kills per set and is ranked third in the conference in kills per set and points per set. She has two triple-doubles this season. Defensively, Jessica Mahan anchors the back row with 4.80 digs/set and is third in the conference with .41 aces/set. Taylor Calhoun leads at the net with .78 blocks/set.
