SUNS HOST HENDERSON IN TUESDAY TILT

RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. - The Arkansas Tech Golden Suns volleyball team (8-6, 2-1 Great American Conference) will host Henderson State (13-2, 2-0) in a Tuesday evening matchup at Tucker Coliseum.

The match is slated for a 6 p.m. start. Live video and statistics are available at www.arkansastechsports.com.

Arkansas Tech is coming off a 1-1 week that saw the Golden Suns drop a tough 3-1 decision to Harding in Searcy on Tuesday before responding with a solid performance in a 3-0 sweep of Ouachita Baptist. Henderson State swept past conference opponents Arkansas-Monticello and Southern Arkansas before downing Mid-America Christian in a non-conference matchup on Saturday.

Strengths will clash in Tuesday's matchup. The Golden Suns have the most potent offensive attack in the Great American Conference, averaging 12.23 kills per set and 13.04 assists per set. Meanwhile, Henderson State's defense has led the Reddies to post the lowest opponent hitting percentage - just .157 - and most blocks per set - 2.46 - in the GAC.

Henderson State junior Adrianna Hartmann leads the GAC with her .408 hitting percentage, smashing home 89 kills on 174 attempts. She has teamed with fellow junior Courtney Bolf (3.43 kills per set) to give the Reddies a potent offensive attack of their own.

Still, the Golden Suns continue to be led by two-way threat Amanda Milnick, who ranks fourth in the league with 8.64 assists per set and ninth in the GAC with her .279 hitting percentage. Senior Hunter Eshnaur is second in the GAC with 0.44 aces per set, while Greer Rogers has been strong up front averaging 0.91 blocks per set.

Arkansas Tech will compete in a pair of GAC matches this week, hosting Henderson State tonight before heading south to Monticello on Thursday, before returning to Tucker Coliseum for four matches next week.
