RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. - Arkansas Tech volleyball travels to Searcy, Ark. today for a Great American Conference match against Harding at 6 p.m. The Golden Suns are looking to move to 2-0 in conference play.
Arkansas Tech (7-5, 1-0 GAC) is coming off a three-set loss to No. 15 Central Oklahoma, however prior to that loss the Golden Suns had ripped off four straight wins in straight sets as Tech defeated Southern Arkansas, Southwest Baptist, Missouri Southern and Emporia State.
GAC Offensive Player of the Week,
Mackenzie Eford, is coming off a great showing at the GAC/MIAA Crossover. Eford paced the Tech offense as she hit .382 for the week as the Suns tallied four wins in five matches. In the conference opener against Southern Arkansas, she hit .577 in the sweep. At the GAC/MIAA Crossover, she hit .302 in the four contests. She hit .692 and did not commit any errors against Emporia State.
Amanda Milnick leads the Golden Suns and ranks fourth in the GAC with 8.75 assists per set, and she also ranks third in the conference with a .310 hitting percentage.
Tymber Ryley joins Milnick inside the top-ten in the GAC in hittig percentage as she is hitting .279, which ranks as the ninth-best.
Hunter Eshnaur's 0.44 aces per set is the third-best in the GAC.
Greer Rogers is ranked fifth in the conference with 1.00 blocks per set.
Harding (5-6, 0-0 GAC) is coming of a three-set victory over Spring Hill on Saturday, snapping a five-game losing streak. The Bison currently rank second in the GAC in kills and fourth in hitting percentage and assists. Rachel Heussner leads the GAC with 9.88 assists per set. Zoe Hardin's .308 attack percentage ranks fourth in the conference, while her 1.05 blocks per set is tied for second in the GAC.
Arkansas Tech is 36-38 all-time against Harding. Tech won the last meeting, however, defeating the Bison in five sets at the 2017 Great American Conference Championship.
