Allie Anderson turned in a 27-kill afternoon, while
Tymber Riley notched 13 kills with a .324 hitting percentage as the Arkansas Tech Golden Suns volleyball team (3-3) swept to a pair of victories on day one of the Holiday Inn Express Classic, downing Shorter (0-1) 3-0 before knocking off host Lee University (0-5) 3-1 on Friday.

HOW IT HAPPENED - TECH vs. SHORTER
- The two teams traded points in the opening set, with Arkansas Tech grabbing an early 6-5 advantage.
- The Golden Suns went on a 7-0 run behind the service of Tymber Riley to claim a 13-5 advantage, capped by a kill by Allie Anderson.
- Tech was able to hold Shorter at arm's length the remainder of the set to claim a 25-13 victory.
- Set two was significantly closer, with the Golden Suns holding a modest lead through the opening points of the set.
- Shorter claimed a 16-15 lead after a Paris Buckner service ace.
- Tech reeled off five of the next six points to push ahead 20-17, and after Shorter cut the Tech advantage to 20-18, the Golden Suns scored five straight points to close out the second set 25-18.
- Arkansas Tech stormed out to a 10-2 lead in the third set, and stretched its lead to double figures (16-6) shortly after, rolling to a 25-12 lead in the decisive third set.

HOW IT HAPPENED - TECH vs. LEE
- Arkansas Tech and Lee battled through an opening set where neither team was able to claim more than a four-point advantage (Arkansas Tech led 13-9 after a service ace by Hunter Eshnaur) as the Golden Suns claimed an opening set 25-22 win.
- Lee opened the second set on an 8-2 run, creating sufficient separation to hold off rallies from the Golden Suns, taking a 25-22 win in the second set to knot the match.
- Lee took a 6-3 lead in the second set before the Golden Suns rallied back, with Tech trading leads with the Flames.
- The Golden Suns claimed the lead in the set for good after a service error gave Tech a 21-20 advantage, and the Golden Suns held on for a 25-21 win in the third set.
- The fourth set was another back-and-forth affair in the early going, but Tech used scored five of six points to open up a 15-11 advantage, and the Golden Suns were able to hold a modest lead over Lee the remainder of the set to seal a 25-20 set win to give Tech a 3-1 win.
