RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. - Arkansas Tech women's tennis will travel to Arkadelphia on Sunday, April 8, for a neutral-site, Great American Conference dual against Southeastern Oklahoma State. The match is set for 4 p.m. in the Ward Tennis Center at Ouachita.
The Golden Suns are 8-8 all-time against Southeastern. The Savage Storm have won the previous four duals, however, including a 7-2 decision last season.
Arkansas Tech (9-4, 2-1 GAC) is currently ranked sixth in the NCAA Division II Central Region, and the Suns are third in the GAC standings. Tech is 5-2 against Central Region opponents this spring, with the two losses coming against No. 7 Central Oklahoma and No. 41 Oklahoma Baptist, who are ranked second and fourth in the region, respectively.Â
Katharina Drebka is 5-6 this spring at the No. 1 singles position, while Megan Bell, Annabel Rowlands, Teresa Sanchez and Julia Schoch all have seven singles wins each. Rowlands and Sanchez each have 11 wins over the fall and spring combined. Rowlands and Kami Ward have posted a team-best 5-1 record in doubles play this spring, and the duo has won their previous three matches.Â
Southeastern Oklahoma (3-9) has yet to compete in conference play, but the Storm are scheduled to take on Harding on Saturday and Ouachita on Sunday before meeting Arkansas Tech. SOSU has just three wins this spring but six of nine losses have come against teams currently ranked inside the top 20 in Division II. Sandra Reljic leads the Storm and ranks 22nd in the latest Oracle/ITA Division II Singles Rankings.Â
