RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. - Arkansas Tech tennis will open the 2018 spring season on Monday, Feb. 12, as the Golden Suns host John Brown at Chartwells Women's Sports Complex in Russellville.

Arkansas Tech begins the spring season after competing in three tournaments in the fall. Tech hosted the Great American Conference Individual Championships in Russellville in September, before participating in the ITA Regionals in Springfield, Mo. and the Collin County Open in Plano, Texas. The Golden Suns have won three consecutive season-opening matches, including an 8-1 win over Delta State in February of 2017.
Tech is 20-9 all-time against the Golden Suns Eagles, a series that began in 1993. Arkansas Tech has won seven consecutive meetings, and the Golden Suns have not dropped an individual match to John Brown since 2006.
Haeleigh Long led the Suns with five singles victories in the fall season, while Annabel Rowlands, Teresa Sanchez and Kami Ward each won four singles matches. In doubles play, the duo of Alejandra Sanchez and Katie Harris earned four victories, and the team of Rowlands and Ward won three. Rowlands and Ward were ranked seventh in the Oracle/ITA Division II Central Region Doubles Rankings on Nov. 15.
