WONDER BOYS WIN TWICE ON SUNDAY TO TAKE SERIES FROM RANGERS

ALVA, Okla. – Arkansas Tech scored at least 10 runs in consecutive games for the first time this season on Sunday, defeating Northwestern Oklahoma State twice, 10-4 and 12-11, to take the three-game series, 2-1.

  • With the win, the Wonder Boys move to 3-3 in the Great American Conference and win the series against NWOSU, 2-1.
  • Arkansas Tech tallied 11 eleven hits while holding the Rangers to just seven. The Wonder Boys also took advantage of six errors by the Rangers.
  • Tech scored 12 runs over the fourth, fifth and sixth innings to take a commanding 12-3 lead. NWOSU responded, however, with an eight-run seventh to cut the deficit to just one run. Nolan Withrow forced a fly out to centerfield with the bases loaded, however, to end the game and secure the win.
  • Hickerson led all batters with three hits, three runs scored and three runs batted in. He finishes the day with four hits and six RBI in the two games combined. Hickerson also extended his reached base streak to a team-leading 14 games.
  • Hale earned his first win of the season, pitching 3.1 innings while allowing just three hits and striking out six. Degan Harte started on the mound and allowed three runs in 3.0 innings.
