GOLDEN SUNS SOAR PAST GOLDEN EAGLES

Box Score RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – Arkansas Tech women's tennis opened the 2018 spring season on Monday with a 9-0 victory over John Brown. The Golden Suns have won four consecutive season opening matches.

Arkansas Tech returns to the court on Saturday, Feb. 17, as the Suns host Missouri Western State at Chartwells Women's Sports Complex. The non-conference match is scheduled for 10 a.m.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Suns started the day by sweeping doubles play. Katharina Drebka and Teresa Sanchez combined for an 8-1 win in No. 1 doubles.
Annabel Rowlands and Kami Ward, the seventh-ranked doubles team in the Division II Central Region, followed with an 8-1 win in No. 2 doubles.
All six singles players for Arkansas Tech won the first set, including five 6-0 victories.
Megan Bell earned the first singles victory of the day, defeating JBU's Natalie Mollan in straight sets in No. 6 singles.
Julia Schoch closed out the day with a 6-2, 6-0 victory in No. 4 singles.
