RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. - The Arkansas Tech Golden Suns basketball team (5-4) will resume its 2018-19 schedule with the final contest of the 2018 calendar year, hosting UMSL in a 2 p.m. tilt on Sunday, Dec. 30 at Tucker Coliseum.
Live audio, video, and statistics will be available at www.arkansastechsports.com, with the game slated for local broadcast on 102.3-FM (KCJC) in Russellville.Â
Sunday's tilt will be the final non-conference matchup for the Golden Suns, who will resume GAC play this coming Thursday at Southeastern Oklahoma. The Golden Suns enter the game on a two-game win streak after wins over Southern Arkansas and Lane.
Jacie Higgins (12.7 ppg, 5.3 rpg),
Ke'Vonshaye Stackhouse (11.6 ppg, 4.2 rpg), and
Hannah Villines (11.3 ppg, 5.3 rpg) all average over ten points per contest, with
Jayana Sanders (9.3 ppg) and
Lyrik Williams (9.0 pg) following closely behind. Villines helped send the Golden Suns into the holiday break with a big win over Lane, scoring 23 points in Tech's 81-57 win.
UMSL saw the court last on Dec. 19 in an 86-38 win over Oakland City. Alex LaPorta (12.3 ppg, 10.4 rpg) averages a double-double for the Tritons, while Arielle Jackson (15.0 ppg) is UMSL's leading scorer. Kaitlynn Henning (10.4 ppg) is the final Triton to average in double figures.Â
Arkansas Tech's next home contest following Sunday's non-conference finale will be a Great American Conference doubleheader against Southern Nazarene on Thursday, Jan. 10.Â
