Box Score HOT SPRINGS, Ark. – The duo of
Hunter Eshnaur and
Allie Anderson combined for 47 kills as Eshnaur notched 24 kills and Anderson tallied 23 kills, but the Arkansas Tech Golden Suns volleyball team (17-12) fell short in its quarterfinal matchup with Ouachita Baptist (23-8), falling 3-2 on Thursday at the Bank of the Ozarks Arena.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Tech jumped out to an early 10-6 lead, but saw the Tigers rally to put together an 11-3 run to take a 17-13 lead.
- The Golden Suns scored three straight points to knot the score at 17-17, however Ouachita scored eight of the next 12 points to close out the opening set (25-21).
- Arkansas Tech opened the second set with a 6-0 run and stretched that lead to 12-4, highlighted by back-to-back kills from Mackenzie Eford.
- Ouachita answered by scoring five unanswered points to trim the Tech lead to 13-10.
- The Tigers went on to score seven of the next nine point to take a 17-15 lead.
- Anderson ended the Tigers run with a kill (17-16), however Ouachita answered right back with two straight kills to stretch its lead to 19-16.
- Tech scored five of the next seven point to tie the score at 21-21, however the Tigers the final two points to take the second set 25-22.
- The third set opened with both teams trading points, featuring nine ties in the opening 26 points (13-13).
- Tech was able to create some separation by scoring three straight points to take a 16-13 lead, but another Ouachita run tied the score at 18-18.
- With the score tied at 20-20, the Tigers scored back-to-back points to take a 22-20 advantage. The Suns trimmed the lead to one (23-22) but OUA went on to score the next point to force a match point at 24-22.
- Tech answered with a 4-0 run, highlighted by Madison Grantham service ace, to take its first set of the match.
- Arkansas Tech jumped ahead 10-8 in set number four but saw the Tigers race back to tie the score at 13-13. Tech answered with a 7-0 run, powered by three Eshnaur kills to take a 20-13 lead. The Suns pushed their lead to 23-15 and later took the fourth set 25-18.
- Ouachita jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the fifth set and later extended their lead to 7-3. Anderson trimmed the lead to 7-4 with her 22nd kill of the match. The Tigers responded with a kill of their own to push the lead to 8-4.
- Tech score two straight points to pull within two points (8-6), but OUA answered right back, pushing their advantage to 11-6 and later claimed a 15-11 set victory.

- Eshnaur tied her season-high in kills with 24 to go alongside 10 digs for her tenth double-double of the season. She also hit a team high .316.
- Anderson followed right behind Eshnaur with a career-high 23 kills, hitting .294.
- Meredith Darnell notched a match-high 19 digs while Delaney Saucier tallied a career-high 38 assists.
- The Golden Suns had 12 team blocks, led by Eford's career-high eight blocks.
