RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. - Arkansas Tech volleyball is set to host "Jersey Night" on Tuesday, as the Golden Suns take on Arkansas-Monticello in Tucker Coliseum. The match is scheduled for 6 p.m.
With four matches remaining in the 2018 regular season, the Golden Suns are tied with Ouachita Baptist for fourth place and have clinched a berth in the upcoming GAC volleyball tournament in Hot Springs, Ark. Â Arkansas Tech (15-9, 8-4) will face UAM and Southern Arkansas this week before finishing up with a home matchup against first-place Harding and a road matchup at Ouachita Baptist.Â
Arkansas Tech will be sporting pink uniforms during the match, which will be auctioned off. The auction opens at 5:30 p.m. with the bidding for each jersey starting at $25. Bids can be made inside Tucker Coliseum or by calling 479-968-0345. The auction will end after the seconds et of the match.Â
The Golden Suns are fighting for position in the upcoming conference championship tournament with Harding (11-1) and Southwestern Oklahoma (11-2) leading the way. Henderson State (10-2) has also clinched a berth, while the Golden Suns and Ouachita sport identical 8-4 records and are tied for fourth. Oklahoma Baptist (7-6) and Southern Nazarene (6-6) are close to locking up the next two slots while Northwestern Oklahoma (4-8), Southeastern Oklahoma (3-9), UAM (3-9) and SAU (2-10) are all fighting for the final spot.Â
Tech and UAM previously squared off on September 20, with Tech capturing a 3-1 win in Monticello.
