RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. - Arkansas Tech will participate in its second volleyball tournament of the season this weekend, playing three matches in Joplin, Mo. as part of the Towneplace Suites Invitational hosted by Missouri Southern. The Golden Suns will take on Chadron State on Friday, Sept. 8, at 6 p.m., before finishing the tournament on Saturday with Maryville at 2:30 p.m. and Missouri Southern at 6:30 p.m.

Arkansas Tech (6-0) has started the season 6-0 for just the fourth time in program history, and the Suns are currently receiving votes in the AVCA Division II Top 25 Poll. Tech is most recently coming off two wins in Russellville on Tuesday where the Golden Suns hit over .400 in consecutive matches for the first time since 2012. 

The Golden Suns have posted a .253 attack percentage so far this season, while their opponents have been held to just .084. Tech also has recorded 36 service aces compared to just 11 from opponents. 

Allie Anderson and Hunter Eshnaur are both averaging over three kills per set to lead the Suns' offense while Rilie Vote is hitting a team-high .449. Madison Nagel anchors the defense with 4.55 digs per set, and Greer Rogers boasts a team-high 1.41 blocks per set. Amanda Milnick is averaging 10.29 assists per set, 2.82 digs per set, 1.94 kills per set and 0.94 blocks per set.

Arkansas Tech will be taking on Chadron State and Maryville for the first time in program history, while the Golden Suns are 10-7 all-time against Missouri Southern.
