RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – Arkansas Tech volleyball will open its home season on Tuesday, taking on Bacone and Williams Baptist in a tri-match in Tucker Coliseum. Tech hosts Bacone at 2 p.m., which will be followed by a match between Bacone and Williams Baptist at 4 p.m. and then the Golden Suns taking on Williams Baptist at 6 p.m.

Arkansas Tech (4-0) went undefeated at the Washburn Invitational last weekend to open the 2017 season, surrendering just two of 14 sets. As a team, the Golden Suns hit .189 while limiting their opponents to just .094. Tech also recorded 23 service aces, compared to just 10 from the opposition.
In Arkansas Tech's 3-1 win over No. 16 Washburn, the Suns set a program record since joining Division II in 1995 with 19 total blocks. The victory was also their sixth consecutive season-opening win, and Tech is 4-0 for the first time since 2008 when the Golden Suns started the season with 16 consecutive victories.
Allie Anderson paced the Golden Suns with 42 kills (3.00 K/Set) in Tech's first four matches, while
Lexie Johnston hit a team high .319. Against Washburn,
Hunter Eshnaur led all players with 17 kills, the most by a Golden Sun this season.
Amanda Milnick finished the weekend averaging 9.79 assists per set, and she recorded two double-doubles after tallying 14 digs against Washburn and 16 digs against Drury.
Greer Rogers led the Suns with 19 total blocks (1.36 Blk/Set), and
Madison Nagel finished with a team-high 4.21 digs per set.
The Golden Suns are 12-0 all-time against Bacone College and 16-0 against Williams Baptist. Arkansas Tech last hosted Williams Baptist in 2016, while the Suns have not played Bacone since 2015.
