RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. - Despite dropping the first set for just the second time this season, the Arkansas Tech Golden Suns won their 14th consecutive match on Saturday, defeating Alabama-Huntsville, 3-1 (22-25, 25-17, 25-20, 25-12).

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Arkansas Tech dropped the first set for just the second time this season, as Alabama-Huntsville (9-3) hit .308 with only three attack errors. 
• The Chargers held a 21-16 lead late in the game, until the Golden Suns took four of the next five points to cut the deficit to two. Alabama-Huntsville escaped the set with the win, however, scoring three of the final five points.
• Tech's defense controlled the second set, forcing the Chargers to commit eight attack errors and hit just .044. Allie Anderson, Amanda Milnick and Tabitha Spray led the Suns with four kills each in the game, while Milnick added seven digs.
• The Golden Suns used a 5-1 run and a 4-1 run to take advantage in the third set. Tech ended the set with three consecutive points to take a 2-1 lead in the match. Hunter Eshnaur led Tech with five kills in the game.
• Arkansas Tech dominated the fourth set, scoring the game's first four points and never allowing the Chargers to pull within three points afterward. The Suns hit a match-high .438 with 17 kills and just three errors, and Tech held Alabama-Huntsville to hist just .062 with six errors.
• For the match, Arkansas Tech posted a .318 attack percentage, as Anderson and Spray each recorded 16 kills and just three errors. Eshnaur followed with nine kills and 10 digs, and Madison Nagel tallied 15 digs.
• Milnick led all players with 44 assists and 23 digs, and she finished one kill shy of a triple-double with nine.

• The victory gives Arkansas Tech its 14th straight to start the 2017 season, and the Suns finish the Holiday Inn Express Spikefest 4-0.
• During the tournament hosted by Arkansas Tech, Nagel passed Brennae Benda (2008-11) to become Arkansas Tech's all-time leader in digs. Nagel has currently recorded 1,996 digs in her career, just four away from becoming the first Golden Sun to reach 2,000 career digs. 
• Arkansas Tech has now hit over .300 as a team in eight of 14 matches this season. The Suns currently lead the GAC with a .302 attack percentage this season.
