Box Score ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – The Arkansas Tech Golden Suns tennis team picked up their first Great American Conference road victory of the season as the Suns held off Henderson State (4-8, 1-3 GAC) 5-4 at the Bettye Wallace Tennis Center in Arkadelphia, Ark. on Saturday.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Arkansas Tech (15-5, 3-1 GAC) jumped out to an early lead as the No. 2 doubles team Annabel Rowlands and Kami Ward as well as the No. 1 doubles pair Macarena Sedano Acosta and Teresa Sanchez each won tightly contested matches to send the Suns into singles play with a 2-1 lead.
• After the Reddies battled back to tie the match up at 2-2, Vandella Suico gave the Suns the lead back with a 6-2, 6-2 win in the No. 6 singles match.
• Teresa Sanchez picked up a 6-4, 6-0 win in the No. 2 singles match and Kami Ward sealed the victory in the No. 3 singles match with a 6-4, 6-3 win give Arkansas Tech a 5-2 lead.
