RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Arkansas Tech Golden Suns will travel to Durant, Okla. this weekend for a four-game series against the Southeastern Oklahoma State Savage Storm. Play begins with a doubleheader on Friday, April 7, at 2 p.m., followed by a Saturday doubleheader set for noon.

ALL-TIME SERIES
Southeastern Oklahoma State leads the all-time series, 14-9, despite the Golden Suns taking three of four games last season. Arkansas Tech also won the first all-time meeting between the schools in 2009, defeating the Storm, 2-1.
SCOUTING THE GOLDEN SUNS
Arkansas Tech (24-14, 18-8 GAC) enters the weekend after dropping two games to No. 4 Harding on Tuesday.
Cara Tolar highlighted the day with three hits in the first game, followed by a complete-game in the circle in game two in which she allowed just one unearned run. The Suns currently sit in fourth in the Great American Conference standings, seven games behind first-place Harding.
In last weekend's conference series against East Central, the Golden Suns recorded four consecutive shutouts, outscoring the Tigers, 8-0, in four games.
Megan Goodnight led Tech's offense with seven hits in the series, including a walk-off homerun in the bottom of the 11
th inning in game two.
Jalissa Gum dominated in the circle throughout the weekend as she became the first pitcher in GAC history to earn a win in all four games of a conference series. Gum finished the weekend with two complete games, 37 strikeouts and just three hits allowed.
Over the last 10 games, Goodnight has posted a team-high .417 batting average.
Janie Knowles has hit .364 in the same span, while
Ashley Landry has hit .310. On the season, Goodnight ranks ninth in the GAC with a .373 batting average. Tech's pitching staff ranks third in the conference in earned-run average, led by
Morgan Vaughan's 1.52 ERA. Gum maintains a 1.65 ERA, and her 223 strikeouts rank second in Division II and are 70 more than any other play in the GAC. Arkansas Tech currently has the best fielding percentage in Division II.
SCOUTING THE SAVAGE STORM
Southeastern Oklahoma State (15-19, 9-15 GAC) split a midweek doubleheader with East Central on Tuesday, winning the second game to snap a six-game losing streak. The Storm were swept by Harding in a four-game series last weekend, and Southeastern currently ranks seventh in the GAC standings.
Destiny Riddle paces the Savage Storm with a .345 batting average and a team-high 25 runs batted in this season. Keeshia Thompson follows with a .330 average, while Symphoni Shomo is hitting .325. Southeastern's .278 team batting average ranks third in the conference, but the Storm is ninth with a 4.21 earned-run average. Emily Cudd has pitched 135.2 innings for the Storm this season and keeps a 3.30 ERA. Ashley Moore has started 11 games and has a 4.76 earned-run average.
