RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – After dropping its first Great American Conference match to Southeastern Oklahoma (13-2, 4-0 GAC) last week, the Arkansas Tech women's tennis team (12-5, 0-1 GAC) will look to capture its first GAC win of the year as the Suns welcome Southern Nazarene (2-8, 1-3 GAC) to the Chartwells Women's Sports Complex on Tuesday.
Last week's match against the Savage Storm was highlighted by the play of
Haeleigh Long and
Kami Ward in No. 3 doubles. The duo came away with an 8-6 win to give the Suns momentum moving into singles competition.
Annabel Rowlands was the lone Golden Sun to come away with a win in singles play, knocking off Maria Martinez 6-4, 6-4 in the No. 5 singles match.
Southern Nazarene enters Tuesdays match with a 2-8 overall record and a 1-3 record in Great American Conference play. The Crimson Storm topped Ouachita Baptist on March 11 in a 9-0 sweep over the Tigers.
