WONDER BOYS TAKE SERIES FROM HARDING BEHIND KLOCKOWSKI'S TWO HOMERS

RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – Zach Klockowski's grand slam in the bottom of the first inning and two-run homer in the seventh inning lifted Arkansas Tech to a 14-5 win and 2-1 series victory over Harding on Saturday.

  • Arkansas Tech has completed its 2017 regular season and has earned the second seed for the GAC Tournament next weekend. The Wonder Boys will host seventh-seeded Harding for the first round of the tournament, beginning with a contest scheduled for 7 p.m. on Friday, May 5, at Tech Field.

  • Klockowski gave Tech the first lead of the game with his team-leading 11th home run of the season and his first grand slam as a Wonder Boy. He later added his second homer of the game and fourth in three games in the seventh, and was immediately followed by a solo home run by Vaughn.
  • Klockowski finishes the three-game series with six hits, seven runs scored and 13 runs batted in.
  • Vaughn followed Klockowski's six runs batted in with four RBI, including his fifth home run of the season.
  • Seven of nine starters crossed home plate in the nine-inning contest. Wilson and McDearmon led all players with three runs scored each.
  • Bowling earned his five win of the season after pitching 3.1 scoreless innings in relief of Birkemeier. Branden Bohuslav pitched the final inning and held Harding to zero runs.
