aRUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Arkansas Tech Golden Suns will finish the 2017 regular season at home this weekend in a four-game series against Southwestern Oklahoma State. The series is scheduled to begin with a doubleheader at noon on Friday, followed by a noon doubleheader on Saturday. The Golden Suns will also host a senior day ceremony in between games on Friday.

ALL-TIME SERIES
The Golden Suns have won 16 of 20 previous contests with Southwestern Oklahoma, dating back to 2004. The Bulldogs have not beaten Arkansas Tech since 2014.
SCOUTING THE GOLDEN SUNS
Arkansas Tech (32-20, 26-14 GAC) enters the weekend after splitting a four-game series with No. 14 Southern Arkansas last weekend. The Suns are ranked 10
th in the latest Central Region Poll and fourth in the Great American Conference standings, one game behind Arkansas-Monticello.
In last weekend's series against SAU, the Golden Suns posted a .293 team batting average. Tech currently ranks fourth in the conference with a .273 average on the season.
Megan Goodnight leads the Suns with a .342 average, 12 doubles, eight home runs and 36 runs batted in. In the last 10 games,
Gaby Vasquez hit a team-high .429 and led the Suns with four runs batted in. Vasquez leads Tech with a .410 on-base percentage for the season.
The Golden Suns are third in the GAC in earned-run average with a 1.87 ERA. Tech has also held opponents to hit a conference-low .205. Arkansas Tech is currently the only team in the GAC with three pitchers ranked in the top 10 in earned-run average.
Morgan Vaughan leads Tech with a 1.48 ERA and five saves.
Jalissa Gum has a 1.58 earned-run average, and she is just 13 strikeouts away from tying the GAC record for strikeouts in a season.
SCOUTING THE BULLDOGS
Southwestern Oklahoma (18-30, 12-26 GAC) is coming off a 3-1 series loss against Ouachita last weekend. The Bulldogs are tied with Southeastern Oklahoma for 11
th in the GAC standings.
The Bulldogs are batting .289 as a team this season but have allowed opponents to hit .328. SWOSU is led by Abigail Schade's .373 batting average on the season. Taya Haney is hitting .351 and leads the Bulldogs with 11 doubles. Tori Hawk has batted in a team-high 34 runs for Southwestern.
Haney also leads SWOSU's pitching staff with 116.2 innings in the circle and a 5-12 record. She has nine complete games and has posted a 5.10 earned-run average. Miranda Grover has a 5-1 record in 35.2 innings pitched, and her 3.73 ERA is the lowest on the team.
