RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Arkansas Tech Golden Suns tennis team is prepared to close out its regular season with a big Great American Conference match against Harding at Burns Park in Little Rock, Ark. on Monday.
It will be a crucial match between Arkansas Tech (15-6, 3-2 GAC) and Harding (13-6, 3-2 GAC) as it will determine who will receive the No. 2 seed and a first round bye at the GAC Championships later this week in Bentonville, Ark.
The Golden Suns will look to avenge a tough 7-2 loss to No. 18 Oklahoma Baptist on Thursday. The Suns started out strong in their match against the Bison with the No. 2 doubles team
Annabel Rowlands and
Kami Ward as well as the No. 3 doubles team
Haeleigh Long and
Vandella Suico each picking up wins to take an early 2-1 lead.
It is the second time in three years that the Suns will face the Bisons at Burns Park. The last time the two teams met in Little Rock, Arkansas Tech came away with an 8-1 win on April 19, 2015.
The match is slated for a 1:30 p.m. start.
