Box Score RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Arkansas Tech Golden Suns tennis team started out strong, but ultimately lost a tough match to No. 18 Oklahoma Baptist 7-2 Friday afternoon at the Chartwells Women's Sports Complex.

• The Golden Suns will close out regular season play on Tuesday, April 18 with a match at Harding (13-5, 3-1 Great American Conference). That match is slated for a 2 p.m. start time at the Harding Tennis Courts.

 
HOW IT HAPPENED

• Arkansas Tech (15-6, 3-2 GAC) fell behind after the No. 1 doubles match, but put together a strong response. In her final career home match, senior Vandella Suico along with teammate Haeleigh Long picked up a win in the No. 3 doubles match 8-5 to tie the match up.
• Annabel Rowlands gave the Suns a 2-1 lead after doubles with a match point ace in the No. 2 doubles match to give Rowlands and teammate Kami Ward an 8-6 victory.
• The Golden Suns struggled to answer a strong Oklahoma Baptist (18-3, 3-1 GAC) response in singles play as the Bison won all singles matches to take a 7-2 victory.
• It was the final home match for three Golden Suns seniors: Macarena Sedano Acosta, Tamara Bell, and Vandella Suico.
