RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Arkansas Tech Golden Suns tennis team (7-1) faces perhaps its toughest challenge of the season as the Suns will travel to Springfield, Mo. for a pair of non-conference matches against Northwest Missouri State (0-3) on Saturday and No. 20 Drury (9-0) on Sunday at the Cooper Tennis Complex.

Tech is coming off a split in the past week as they dropped a heartbreaker to No. 40 Dallas Baptist (6-2) last Saturday by a score of 5-3, but bounced back with a big 9-0 sweep of Ouachita Baptist (0-9) on Tuesday.

So far through the fall and spring season, the Golden Suns have found remarkable success in both singles and doubles play. Five of the six Suns individuals have posted winning records through the fall and spring seasons, including
Haeleigh Long (12-2),
Macarena Sedano Acosta (12-4),
Annabel Rowlands (11-4),
Kami Ward (11-4), and
Tamara Bell (10-4).

All three of Tech's doubles teams have also posted winning records so far this season with the No. 1 doubles team of
Macarena Sedano Acosta and
Tamara Bell posting an 11-4 record, the No. 2 doubles team of
Teresa Sanchez and
Annabel Rowlands are 10-4, and the No. 3 doubles pair of
Vandella Suico and
Haeleigh Long are 10-3 so far in the 2016-17 season.

The Suns will face the Bearcats on Saturday, March 11 at 1 p.m. and will then face No. 20 Drury on Sunday, March 12 at 11 a.m.
