PLANO, Texas– The Arkansas Tech tennis team closed out its fall season as both Alejandra Sanchez and Haeleigh Long came away with flight championships on the final day of the Collin Community College Open on Saturday in Plano.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED

• Haeleigh Long and Alejandra Sanchez were named co-champions of the Flight 4 singles bracket after they won their semifinal matches.
• Teresa Sanchez won the Flight 1 singles consolation bracket, defeating Valada Litinova 8-4 in the consolation final.
• Annabel Rowlands advanced to the finals of the Flight 2 consolation bracket, but lost 8-4 to Sophie Farmer in the consolation final
• The doubles pairing of Megan Bell and Julia Schoch advanced to the finals, but fell short, dropping a 8-4 match to Shelby Fillingame/Sherine Salem
• The duo of Katie Harris and Alejandra Sanchez advanced to the semifinals, but lost a 8-4 match to Shelby Fillingame/Sherine Salem
