GOLDEN SUNS READY TO BATTLE RANGERS AND BULLDOGS

RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The 17th-ranked Arkansas Tech Golden Suns will look for a season-sweep over Northwestern Oklahoma State and redemption against Southwestern Oklahoma State in Oklahoma this weekend. Tech takes on Northwestern in Alva on Thursday at 5:30 p.m. before heading to Weatherford to battle Southwestern at 11 a.m. on Saturday.

Live audio, video and statistics for both games are available at www.arkansastechsports.com. The games will be carried live on 102.3-FM (KCJC) in Russellville, with Sam Strasner calling the play-by-play. The contest in Weatherford will be shown live on American Sports Network.
 
ALL-TIME SERIES
The Golden Suns are 9-1 all-time against Northwestern Oklahoma State. Tech has won the previous six contests against the Lady Rangers, including an 81-35 victory earlier this season. Arkansas Tech leads the all-time series against Southwestern Oklahoma, 14-7. The Bulldogs defeated Tech earlier this season, however, handing the Golden Suns their first loss.
 
SCOUTING THE GOLDEN SUNS
No. 17 Arkansas Tech (13-2, 9-2 GAC) are currently ranked second in the GAC standings, two games behind Harding. The Golden Suns fell to Harding on Jan. 16 but responded with wins over Henderson State and Arkansas-Monticello. Tech leads the GAC in scoring margin, defeating its opponents by an average of 14.3 points. The Golden Suns also have the second-best scoring defense in the conference.
 
Cheyenne North and Kelsey McClure rank ninth and 10th in the GAC in scoring, each averaging over 13 points per game. North is second in the conference with just under nine rebounds per game, and both Golden Suns are in the top 10 in field-goal percentage. North ranks 19th in Division II with 2.3 blocks per game, and Calli White leads Tech and ranks second in the GAC in three-point shooting percentage.
 
SCOUTING THE LADY RANGERS
Northwestern Oklahoma State (6-11, 5-6 GAC) is coming off a 69-60 win over East Central on Saturday to stretch the Lady Rangers' win streak to three games. Northwestern ranks sixth in the GAC standings, while ranking 10th in scoring and last in scoring defense.
 
Kalea King leads the Lady Rangers with 16.1 points per game, second best in the conference. Kori Barrios is the reigning GAC Player of the Week after averaging 18.3 points and 6.7 rebounds in three games. Barrios Leads the Lady Rangers with 5.0 rebounds per game.
 
SCOUTING THE LADY BULLDOGS
Southwestern Oklahoma State (10-6, 6-4 GAC) is coming off an upset-loss to Oklahoma Baptist on Saturday, falling to the Lady Bison, 81-79. The Lady Bulldogs rank fifth in the GAC standings despite leading the conference in scoring at 79.8 points per game.
 
Hailey Tucker leads Southwestern and the conference with 18.8 points and 9.8 rebounds per game. Hayden Priddy follows with just under 16 points per game while ranking fourth in the GAC with 4.4 assists per contest. Whitney Dunn averages 8.1 points, 6.3 boards and is second in the conference in shooting.
