SEARCY, Ark. – The Arkansas Tech Golden Suns moved to 2-0 in the Great American Conference on Tuesday, defeating the Harding Lady Bisons, 3-0 (25-16, 25-14, 25-19). The Golden Suns held Harding to just 28 total points and 23 kills, while scoring 54 points and picking up 44 kills.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Tech (7-6, 2-0 GAC) exploded on offense in the first set, recording 19 kills and just one attack error to hit .462 as a team. Hunter Eshnaur led all players with nine kills in the first set.
- Harding (9-3, 1-1 GAC) committed only two attack errors in the first game to go with 14 kills, but the Golden Suns took the first point of the set and never let the Lady Bisons tie or take the lead.
- In the second set, Arkansas Tech jumped out to an early lead again, opening the game on a 9-2 run.
- An 8-1 run later in the set put the Golden Suns ahead, 24-11. After three straight Harding points, Tech put the set away with a block by Lauren Rodemers and Kaylee Konsella.
- Matti Dix anchored the defense in the second game, picking up a match-high eight digs.
- Arkansas Tech struggled on offense in the final set of the match, hitting just .026. The Golden Suns' defense stepped up, however, to limit Harding to just three kills and force nine attack errors.
NOTABLES
- The Golden Suns held the Lady Bisons to just 23 kills, tied for a season-low. Harding also hit under .100, the third time for a Tech opponent this season.
- Eshnaur tied a season-high with 16 kills. She also added 10 digs to earn her third consecutive double-double and ninth of the season.
- Rodemers led the Golden Suns with a .500 attack percentage, finishing with 10 kills on 16 attempts.
- Sarah Rosinke, Amanda Milnick and Madison Nagel each recorded at least 10 assists, with Rosinke getting a team-high 13.
- Dix led all players with 15 digs in the match, followed by Nagel and Eshnaur with 10 each.
- Nagel earned the first double-double of her career in the three-set victory.
- With the victory, Tech moves to 2-0 in the GAC for the third consecutive season.

- On the victory – "We played very consistent, aggressive volleyball. Our tough, non-conference schedule paid off tonight. We were able to face a good team like Harding and feel prepared."
- On Eshnaur – "Hunter was outstanding tonight. She was able to see the block and terminate well."
- On the defense led by Dix – "Matti Dix was solid in left back defense and serve receive. Our entire back court did a great job of playing out of system."
