RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – Arkansas Tech volleyball will return to Great American Conference play on Tuesday, as the Golden Suns travel to Searcy to take on the Harding Lady Bisons. Tech defeated Southern Arkansas, 3-0, on Sept. 13 to move to 1-0 in the GAC.
The Lady Bisons (9-2, 1-0 GAC) are coming off two wins on Saturday over Missouri Southern State and Lyon College. Harding is currently riding a nine-match win streak after starting the season 0-2. The lone conference match so far for the Lady Bisons ended in a 3-1 victory over Henderson State on Sept. 13.
Harding's Zoe Harding, the reigning GAC Offensive Player of the Week, is currently ranked first in the GAC and sixth in Division II with 1.44 blocks per set. As a team, the Lady Bisons are 15
th in Division II in opponent hitting percentage and 25
th in kills per set. Harding also leads the conference in kills per set, assists per set and digs per set. Arkansas Tech ranks first in the GAC in total kills and third in hitting percentage.
The Golden Suns are coming off three consecutive losses in the Peggy Martin Challenge. Tech dropped matches to Northwest Missouri State, Central Missouri and Newman. Two of the three teams are ranked in the top 25 of the Division II AVCA Coaches Poll.
Hunter Eshnaur leads the Golden Suns with 148 kills on the season, followed by
McCall Wilkins with 101.
Lauren Rodemers maintains a team-high .320 attack percentage while also leading the team in blocks per set.
Madison Nagel has recorded 200 digs in 12 matches, good for 4.35 per set.
