GUM'S WALK-OFF SINGLE LIFTS GOLDEN SUNS OVER TIGERS

BENTONVILLE, Ark.  – Jalissa Gum hit a two-run, walk-off single in the bottom of the ninth inning to lift the No. 8 Arkansas Tech Golden Suns (46-8) to a 3-2 win over East Central (25-31) on Saturday at the Great American Conference championship tournament.

  • Gum picked up a no-decision after scattering five hits over seven innings of work. Vaughan fired two innings of relief, allowing one run on one hit to pick up the win.
  • Edinger had two hits in the win.
  • With Gum's fourth strikeout, she set the GAC championship record for strikeouts. She concluded the game with 30 for the tournament.
  • Both teams loaded the bases in the seventh inning and were unable to convert, sending the game to extra innings.
