SUNS ROLL PAST EAST CENTRAL IN REGULAR SEASON FINALE

RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – Fatima Adams scored a game-high 17 points, leading a cast of five players in double figures as the No. 15 Arkansas Tech Golden Suns (23-3, 21-1 Great American Conference) rolled to a 98-63 win over East Central (10-16, 10-12 GAC) on Saturday at Tucker Coliseum. 

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Tech opened the game on an 8-2 run over the first three minutes of the game.
  • ECU cut Tech's lead to two (8-6) just one minute later, but Tech pushed its lead to as much as 10 (18-8) with 4:09 to go in the opening quarter.
  • ECU again cut into the Tech lead, pulling to within seven (20-13) with 1:03 to go, but Tech scored the quarter's final five points to claim a 12-point advantage after the first quarter.
  • Tech and ECU played relatively even basketball in the second quarter, but Tech carried a 14-point (40-26) advantage into the half.
  • The Golden Suns started the third quarter strong, opening the lead to as many as 22 points (50-28) with 7:52 to play, and Tech carried a 24-point (68-44) lead into the half.
  • The fourth quarter featured more of the same for the Golden Suns, as Arkansas Tech cruised to the victory.
NOTABLES
  • Tech's 35-point margin of victory tied for its largest lead of the night.
  • Tech held a 59.3 to 33.3 percent shooting advantage, with Tech shooting at a 66.7 percent clip in the second half.
  • The Golden Suns dominated the glass, outrebounding ECU 43-20.
  • Anissa Pounds (14 points), Bre Brooks (12 points), Danielle Frachiseur (11 points) and Fabiana Monte (10 points) all reached double figures in the win.
  • The Golden Suns held a 48-20 advantage in points in the paint, a 27-15 advantage in points off turnovers, a 5-4 advantage in second-chance points, a 14-2 advantage in fast-break points, and a 39-19 advantage in bench points.
