RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – Jalissa Gum fired a two-hitter and fanned 16 hitters in the opener, while driving in three runs in the nightcap to lead the No. 6 Arkansas Tech Golden Suns softball team (14-1, 6-0 Great American Conference) to a doubleheader sweep of reigning conference champion Henderson State (9-6, 2-3), as Tech won the opener 8-1 before taking a 7-4 win in the day's finale.
?NEXT UP- The Golden Suns will conclude their four-game set with Henderson State on Saturday, Feb. 27 in a noon doubleheader.

NOTABLES- Gum outdueled the GAC's reigning Pitcher of the Year with her stellar performance – Tech erupted for ten hits and eight runs, five earned while Sorenson walked six and fanned four in six innings of work. Gum was nearly flawless, allowing two hits and one run in seven innings of work, walking none and fanning 16.
- Edinger, Gum, and Crumpley had two hits apiece for the Golden Suns.
- Coronado and Edinger drove in two runs, while Vasquez scored twice.
- After HSU's White hit a solo homer in the top of the fourth, Gum struck out the next six Reddies she faced – part of a stretch from the second into the sixth inning where Gum struck out 10 of the 11 batters she faced.
