RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. - The sixth-ranked Arkansas Tech Golden Suns softball team (12-1, 4-0 Great American Conference) will open the home portion of its 2016 schedule this Friday and Saturday, as the Golden Suns play host to Henderson State (9-5, 2-2) at the Chartwells Women's Sports Complex.

Friday's doubleheader is set for 3 p.m., while Saturday's doubleheader begins at noon. 

After the best start in program history, Arkansas Tech will face a Reddies team that provided a fair share of frustration for the Golden Suns last season. However, the Golden Suns carry the momentum of having performed well against some of the top teams in the nation into this early-season conference matchup. 

After Saturday's doubleheader, the Golden Suns will be hosting an autograph signing, and will be collecting new or gently-used backpacks to be donated to River Valley Food for Kids.
